It's a nice, inexpensive public course near Binghamton, NY.  It doesn't have a lot of architectural features we all taut, and yes, this one is cart golf, but it's still public, inexpensive, pretty, well conditioned and interesting.

Any others list this one on their itioneraries when traveling upstate NY?  It makes a great compliment to Hiawatha Landing...

It's right on the way to visit my dad and brothers up in Rochester, and I've often thought about playing Conklin.  I do like its location.

How's the pace of play?

Pace of play is OK...4 hours.  It's really pretty.  play it 36 with Hiawatha Landing and then write me a thank you email.  here's the klicker...play it full moon in October and the moon rises HUGE and red over the 15th fairway.

hiawatha was ok.  wasn't as crazy about it as some people seem to be.  enjoyed en-joie, although it is overtreed and no masterpiece.  Just wanted to have a frame of reference for when i watch the pros play it.  only other one up there that I played was leatherstocking, which is somewhat of a masterpiece.

I love Leatherstocking too...and on that note, I confirmed today with George Bahto that Leatherstocking is indeed a Devereux Emmet deisgn and not a Raynor - either raynor for that matter.
