Did Feherty do it again?

Did anybody else hear the...ahem.. unsual sound just after Harrington putted on the 16th green? Is this Feherty's new signal for win a tournament is over and Tiger has won? If this what I think it was will the Tour stupidly get upset with Feherty?

Perhaps a study was conducted with the finding that many fans who only watch televised golf when Tiger is playing are amused by farts.

I think McCord and Feherty are pretty good at their jobs at times.  I hope they don't descend into a "two stooges" routine with this nonsense.

i watch two or three tournaments a year...masters, british, irish, etc...i just happened to turn on the tv before backyard bbq and saw padrig chip it in the water and got my attention...then the fart

Chip - I did the exact same thing. I thought Feherty has some sick obsession that is going to get him fired, which would really suck because I love listening to him.

The sad thing is that Feherty actually can be enlightening when he wants to be and used to be very good when he first came on CBS. Now he has this stupid "brand" as a wise-cracking Irish golf idiot. The big problem is that CBS already has its fill of idiots in Gary McCord and Jim Nantz.

If Feherty keeps it up he'll be canned and on the Golf Channel doing the Grey Goose "19th Hole" sooner rather than later.

Its got to be hard to be a golf announcer.  I think Lanny got fired mostly because he had run out of anything original to say.  I wonder if David is trying to combat the same thing, although I can't imagine that farts would be his savior.  Lets hope he doesn't start running of at the ......oh, I guess I won't go there.

but he's not in the booth Jeff, so he really has no time to fill...his job is just to tell us about the upcoming shot

Judy Rankin, who i think is a GREAT announcer  and who's name has come up as perhaps the next LPGA copmmercial , simply does her job, no frills, no need for this kind of silliness

iit's really quite embarrassing i think for the tour to have to deal with this kind of a thing...i wonder if Finchem is talking to CBS about it

maybe a week off for Mr. Feherty is in order..

I am afraid that Feherty has begun to believe that he is the humorist in the golf broadcasting industry. His back page stint in GOLF magazine is as sophomoric as it gets and uses coarseness that must offend parents with young children.

I met him once back at the '92 US Open at Pebble and he was rather quiet and obviously intelligent. Nowadays he seem to try too hard to be funny.
