Dan,

Thanks so much for posting that.

Truly one of the most magical days I've ever had was being fortunate enough to play there a few years ago, which brought a crescendo to what was a golf trip of a lifetime.

Mike,
I got as far as the front gate - it was closed for a few days when I was there due to extremely dry conditions.

I really love it there in Bandon-by-the-Sea.

Of all of the hard to play places, Sheep Ranch is really close to the top for me.  It just sounds super cool.

The Sheep Ranch is quite the place- enjoyable in forty degree weather, raining, and blowing sideways. And that was with a rake in my hand.

Clint:  It really is not that hard to play.

Will:  I was up at The Sheep Ranch this morning, actually, watching a crew shoot a scene for "Golf In the Kingdom".  Did you ever imagine that we were building a movie set?  They are also doing little snippets of the golf game at Bandon Dunes and Old Macdonald, and filming the bar scene at McKee's Pub.

I will be in Bandon May 14 to 17 and looking forward to Old MacDonald and trying to get on to the Sheeps Ranch. With the video I am now that much more determined to have my caddie Chubb see if he can get me on.

Is the charm of the Sheep Ranch rooted in its randomness?

Yes, it's located on one of the most beautiful places on Earth, but does the way you play bring us back to our youth - carefree days, play where you want to go, and just have pure fun.

It's genius - so why hasn't another Sheep Ranch been created?  I think the concept would be fantastic for a second course at a successful club.

I never thought for a moment that we were creating a movie set, but when I heard they were going to be shooting Golf in the Kingdom at Bandon, it made perfect sense that they would use the Sheep Ranch. I am actually a little surprised that they are filming at the other courses because I am sure it is disrupting play.

Did they make the pub a little darker and smokier, to give it a little more authenticity?

Thanks for the link, Dan, and thanks for posting the video, Will.

There is a certain irony that in order to see more of SR (long time occupant of the #1 slot on my wish list) I have to see a movie about a book I couldn't stand... :)

or you can visit Bandon :)
(I have the "secret" procedure for access if you're interested...   Tom's right, you can get on with a little work.  Laura and I were scheduled to play, but the SR was closed when we visited due to extreme dryness due to (believe it or not) drought conditions.  It was also extra-windy when we visited, and fire concerns were probably the big factor in closing the SR - this was in late August 2005)

PS - Tom, I know it must be tough to be away from home as often as you are, but, man, do you lead a great life :)
