I find myself agreeing with Cirba after 12 holes at Musket. We will try Dye on friday.

Michael, Michael, Michael...

See what you get for not listening to me!!!   :-\

Oh...Muskrat Ridge forces decisions...it's the best...such strategic golf    ::)  ;)

Go over to PB Dye and then see where you want to spend your third day.

You won't exactly fall in love up in Gettysburg, either, but it's not nearly as awful as Musket.

If you're there the next two days, PB Dye...and....then again PB Dye.  ;D

I don't mind telling Jerry Kluger, and Jonathan, and Rob Waldron, and Paul Carey, or any of those "mid-Atlantic" guys that they're dead wrong.    Now at least you know I'm right.   ;) ;D

Mike,

Before I played Links at Gettysburg on your third day, I'd recommend either Springwood in York http://www.golfspringwood.com/ or Dauphin Highlands in Harrisburg http://www.golfdauphinhighlands.com/ , both of which you should pass on your way back home.

Please disregard the **** star ratings from Golf Digest for each.

They really are pretty good, despite that dubious distinction.  ;)

3 days in Frederick?

Why not go over to Odessa National in Delaware?

Steve,

I believe Odessa is quite a distance from Frederick, isn't it?

According to Mapquest, it's about a 2 hour+ drive from Frederick to Townsend, DE.

Gettysburg is closer to Frederick.

Preach it, brother.  Very underrated.  I may kidnap Jerry this year and make him play PB Dye with me.

I just finished 18 PBDyde . Please help me!

I think it is fair to compare to the public courses around Philly. They fall well behind any I can think of.

I will take any good ideas on the way back to Philly

If you are swinging back to Philly via Harrisburg and the PA turnpike, how 'bout the PB Dye almost daily double and give Iron Valley a shot?  They are opening up for the season tomorrow.  Just mention that you are on the e-mail list and want the special opening day rate of 35 bucks.

Gentlemen: We will have to have a meeting one day to discuss the merits of these courses.  If Jonathan shows up, he will have to stand behind his flowery magazine reviews.

mayday,
go play French Creek...  Just mention me, and they'll give you the keys to the kingdom (as long as you pay green fees :)  )
