Over the last couple of years, Joe Bausch has spent a helluva lot of time researching old newspaper articles and providing some fantastic findings here at GCA.com.
This is not easy work. These newspapers didn't exactly have Google-like indexing available. Joe does it the hard way - looking through archives to try to find gems.
These gems, long hidden and forgotten, have served to improve the historical record of golf course architecture.
We're very fortunate Joe is here at gca.com. Thanks, Joe!
PS - Joe - do you make your students do this type of research?
(for those that don't know Joe, he's a really great guy that plays a darn good game of golf!)
