Perry Maxwell's Signature
« on: February 27, 2008, 05:28:07 PM »
Does anyone have a copy of Perry Maxwells signature? We're trying to track down a copy to possibly go on a member invitational flag. Thanks

I believe that Maxwell's signature is in Doak's book on Dr Mac.  Go to the map of the UofM course and in the right corner is the signature.  It would probably need to be blown up, but I think it is Maxwell's rather than Dr Mac's.

BTW Don't say a Wolverine never steered you right!

We once had the Perry Maxwell signature on our flags at Old Town. I received the signature from Chris Clouser, of course. I think he garnered it from a bank note, but I'm unsure of his source. Anyway, I thought it was going to be much cooler looking on the flag than it actually was.

If Clouser doesn't have it I would call Dornick Hills. They have some old course maps which I think have his signature. If not, someone around there would have to.

While pulling the pin on the third green at Old Town, one of my guests once said, "wow, I didn't know that Perry Maxwell designed flags too!"  ;D  I haven't liked signatures on flags since.

Reminds me of a full flight a few years ago when the flight attendant had a stray briefcase and announced "Is Arthur Anderson on the plane."
