According to Crenshaw's web site, construction started 10 days ago.

"Another crew started work on The Dormie Club in Pinehurst, N.C. on October 15.  Dave Axland is running that job, with Jimbo Wright and Toby Cobb handling the shaping."

The site is NNW of the Village.  Specifically, due north of Pinewild, halfway between courses Seven Lakes and Little River.  The site is where the north parking lot was for the recent U.S. Opens.

In a country full of terrible names for new golf clubs, this one is pretty solid.

It is a good name, too bad most people won't have a clue what it means.  Many people will think it has to do with window architechture.

The Crenshaw website??

Now THAT I just do not understand since both Ben and Bill say they still have no idea how to even turn on a computer.

TEP: There is indeed a site. It's folded into bencrenshaw.com, under the "Design" bar. I imagine it's updated now and then by someone in the Austin office, but you're right--try to email Ben or Bill and you'll be waiting an awful long time for a reply.

The description of the site a being a former parking lot is less than romantic.  I hope that it wasn't a good parking lot.

It was a pleasantly undulating parking lot, I'm sure.

I tried it once. Ben Crenshaw's agent responded. And fairly promptly, too.

Dormie is a much better name than Old Sandwich. I just can't get over that one. I get the origin of the name, but it still makes me think of, well, an old sandwich.
