What an absolutely terrific golf course, at all of 6200 yards from the tips (although with so many greens occupying the highest points on terrain that has a lot of slope it plays considerably longer).

With a set of AW Tillinghast greens that are tougher than Fenway's, which heretofore I thought were the most diabolical of his that I'd played (haven't played Winged Foot or Somerset Hills, although I'm betting that the latter has a LOT in common with Valley).

I'll try to write more tomorrow, but I bet the Superintendent has a blast setting up the course with each hole having multiple treacherous hole locations.

98 acres.

The amazing thing to me is that there is way more golf here on 98 acres than on most courses I've played with 200 or more.
