While on vacation last weekend, I was pondering a thread on the discipline and mental focus it requires to take time for the wife's sake....while being adjacent to a great course, with no clubs, no mention of golf, etc. So if anyone can beat the steely nerve I displayed at San Ysidro Ranch ......would love to hear about it. During some down time, I was looking on some info on the canned Miramar project, but stumbled on this tripe served up by the Nicklaus group.......

I am aware, to some degree, that the course has been altered with construction of the 101 and membership failures.....but this is just silly. I often wonder if some of today's talented architects post this stuff up on the bulletin board at the office for use as motivation, as in pro sports. My personal favorite:

I wanted to bump this because I thought it was sad that not one word is mentioned about Behr.

The first hit on Google describes Behr as a "landscape architect" who designed the course. Jeesh. You would think that posthumously the guy might catch a break.

How much of Behr is/was there at Montecito?

I don't think there was much left there now, but you would think the man would get at least a mention in reagrds to Montecito. The man did do the original course. I believe he's also buried in Montecito. When 101 came through it dramatically altered the course. I think before Jack gets his hands on it, maybe there can be some effort made to document whatever may be left of him there. Lord knows that there isn't alot of his work around anyway.
