Uist hedgehog cull scrapped

Tuesday February 20, 2007
Guardian Unlimited
  A death sentence hanging over hedgehogs on a remote Scottish island was lifted today after it was agreed to end a controversial cull.
  Hundreds of the prickly creatures on Uist in the Outer Hebrides have been given lethal injections since 2003 because of the threat they pose to rare wading birds and their eggs.

This is good news for our Highlander hillbilly friends.  The hedgehog lethal injection reprieve is as good of hillbilly news as the legislation passed in Tennessee, allowing the gathering of road kill for 'ridgerunner stew".  I wonder if my little nephew Marty hunts'em fer vitals.

Hedgehogs are among the slower moving mammalian hunting targets in these here Isles. Shooting 'em is like - well - shootin' fish in an aquarium.
I tends to save mah bullets fer faster movin' targets. Now, take the humble Haggis. Despite having one leg shorter than the other fer runnin' roond the Bens'n'Glens, boy, can they shift.
Taste a might better than Hedgies too!!!
