The Annual Christmas Poem
« on: December 22, 2006, 06:46:55 PM »
Since the site needs an injection of humour again - and I wasn't originally planning to do this - but once again I present my annual Christmas Poem

Winter Wonderland will never be the same.....

Alarm bells ring
are you listening
the moderator’s near
the threads gone missing
Rich got a frieght
there’s no Michele Wie tonight
talking in a website wonderland

Gone away is the football
no one cares about your school
all the OT’s are gone
now let’s try get along
talking in a website wonderland

on the website we can destroy any architect
Then kick him till he is down
He'll say: Are you done?
we'll say: No man
But want to play golf
when you're in town?

Later on
they’ll conspire
to place a golf writer under fire
So be afraid
of the plans that they've made
talking in a website wonderland

On the screen I can build a legend
I’ve read Mackenzie don’t you know
I know lots of dates but I can’t get one
Since my IM’s began to grow

When it off topic
ain't it thrilling
Thumb your nose gets a grillin’
We'll frolic and play
the Atlas way
talking in a website wonderland

Thanks for the poem, Ian and for a good laugh.  I nominate you Poet Laureate of GCA.com.  What say everyone?  It is a non-paying gig, but has loads of prestige    ;)  Chicks dig poet laureates, too!

And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, Dave.  Thanks a bunch.  Looking forward to seeing you next year for some golf and a few drinks...too many  ;)

Some may remember the epic poem read after dinner at the Painswick Buda Cup by THEIR poet laureate, Delia.

This one was shorter.  ;)

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.   ;D

Ian,

Thanks for a laugh on a day when we can all use one!

Of course, I'm pretty certain that the ultimate parody of the Merion thread is yet to be written.   I may have to put some thought into that one this weekend, but it certainly deserves to be thrown onto the Yule fire.  Talk about generating more heat than light!!!   ::) ;D

Merry Christmas to you, Ian, and to all these other fellow head-cases.

Well written as always, and especially well timed this year.

A belated Merry Christmas to you as well, Ian.
