You all have been very kind with your time and comment. Several have responded with long and detailed e-mails...thank you all.
I have heard that the survey will be ready in a week or so. Once I have details I will post the website and those who would care to may log in an take the survey.
Among my travels was a visit to the superintendent's shack at Sharp. There are hundreds of old plans. The oldest dated to the 1930s and captured the irrigation system as installed a few years after the beach hole was lost. Another interesting plan showed the canyon holes (4-7) several years before they got built. My assumption is that these holes were planned for the inevitable of losing more of the ocean holes...but it took time to get the money and approvals.
