For those of you in the SF area I — in advance — appreciate your interest in this survey work. We have been assisting in the process of working out solutions to the SF City golf operations. I believe there is a rich and rewarding collection of golf courses in SF. My hope is that your responses enlighten the process and call attention to the areas you fee are most important.

The problems with SF muni golf courses have little to do with the golfers and courses, mostly the problems lie with the non golfing staff and politicans in SF.
It must be kept in mind that the elusive charm of the game suffers as soon as any successful method of standardization is allowed to creep in.  A golf course should never pretend to be, nor is intended to be, an infallible tribunal.

I completed the survey(s) for a number of the courses. My fear is that the masses will vote food and beverage, condition of the golf carts and freindless of the the staff higher than the conditions of the golf courses.

Lynn:  The survey asks specifically about those problems.

The problem is the city is in a nightmare of financial problems due to Harding Park and is trying to find a way out of this mess.  Basically they are begging for a white knight to save them.

Lynn / Joel — There is opportunity to include narrative responses and opinions. In the end, it all comes down to the golf course...regardless of what the cause may be.

The analysis of the survey will certainly look for the source(s) of the problems identified. At this juncture I would encourage your participation so your voices are heard.
