Golf in Venezuela

An article I read this morning states that three major golf clubs in Caracas, Venezuela are being "expropriated" to provide land to build housing for the poor. As many as 50,000 homes are to be built on the 363 acres that have been snagged upon.

Has anyone played the Caracas Country Club? It was apparently opened in 1919, but I do not know the name of the designer. It may soon be NLE. Here is a link to the article:

This is certainly going to be one of the world's great engineering feats ranking up there with the pyramids and hanging gardens of Babylon as each of these 50,000 homes will occupy some .00726 of an acre!
