So I was kind of intriqued by the above picture, so I google their website, found it very cluttered, like of that of an Indian Reservation website, and they do not list the architect's name, and no pictures except a virtual tour from one spot which is hard to tell from.

R there other pictures of other holes for us to see?

Scottsdale is a little hike from Gold Canyon.  When I played it a couple years ago the conditioning was suspect and it was crowded.  It is a good value and has a number of very good  holes.  It also has some mediocre holes.  There are better places to play in and around Scottsdale.  The above picure is not representative of the course, Would that it were.

One of my regular Sunday group buddies just played Gold Canyon two weeks ago and absolutely loved it.  He is pretty well attuned to GCA, and liked not only the course itself, but thought the wow factor of the views was great as well.

I think that's a pretty fair characterization, the hole pictured above and a few others are extremely dramatic and I very much would recommend the course as worth playing. The only drawback to me was that the last 3 holes were probably the most "blah" on the course from what I remember...but the run up to them is well worth it. Its the best of the 6 courses I've played in the Phoenix area (for comparisons sake...Pointe--Lookout Mountain, Las Sendas, Arizona CC, TPC-Desert, and Estrella Mountain Ranch).

I play there with my uncle when visiting Scottsdale and would agree with Jerry + Andy's assessment. The holes around the side of the mountain on the first nine are spectacular-including one 5-6 iron hit straight into the sky from the back tees of a radically downhill par 3 island green.

Desert target golf with lots of elevation change on the front side + 4-5 holes on the back. The last good hole is a par 5 (#16) where you have decide if you're clearing a desert wash area on your second shot. Unfortunately, once you clear it the green area is no great shakes. It's almost like once the designer could no longer use the desert as a hazard, he had no more ideas.

Love all the cactuses with the 'bullet holes' caused by misdirected Titleists!
