Coore and Crenshaw Par 3 Courses
« on: February 26, 2006, 01:13:58 PM »
I know that Friar's Head has a par 3 course, but I don't think Bill and Ben had much to do with that.  I might be wrong.  But, it looks like they have two in the works opening in the next year.  Colorado Golf Club and Austin Golf Club.  I am curious to see what they create with the short courses given this is a bit of a departure from their usual M.O.

Colorado GC does have a par 3 course. I'm pretty sure it was designed by some one other than Bill and Ben though, and constructed by Landscapes.

The par 3 course at Friar's Head was designed and constructed by Rod Whitman, with notable assistance from Dave Axland.

Where is the par 3 course at Friar's Head? I wasn't aware of it at all.

Ed,

It's over to the right of the 3rd hole. And, left of the 12th.

They have cleared trees at AGC. There is rumor of a redan. Looks very cool.
There is also talk of making the putting surfaces Diamond Zoysia.
