WOW that was fast, but then again it usually is! I'll go deeper next time.
1. Tillinghast
This photo will be found in Philip Young's upcoming book called Tillinghast Creator of Golf Courses. I'm really looking forward to reading this book and have had the opportunity to go through the rough draft briefly.
2. Travis
I bet this was a repeat, I like the image too much. The image is from a publication called Golf and was from January 1896
3. Faldo
Nick from his recent book called Life Swings.
4. Cape Breton
This is found in the Nashwalk Review Volume 14/15. The publication has two gems:
-An essay on Thompson and Highland Links that is very well researched and well written by Ken Donovan
-the gem is a long interview with Geof Cornish that contains a lot of information hidden within the interview. It answered a number of pressing questions for me about the nature of the remaining plans for example. Most were as built.
5. Pine Needles
That was supposed to be the easy one and comes from the book Sandhills Classics
6. Shinnecock
Probably to easy, but it is the hell bunker from Shinnecock
7.Westward Ho!
Tom MacWood was correct.
8. Thompson
Ryan is right, it is indeed Stanley Thompson's sketch for the 8th hole at Sunningdale in London Ontario. The image can be found in the Guelph University archives in the Stanley Thompson collection. In fact, his entire sketch book for that project is in the archives, this is t6he only hole drawing and there are only a couple of green sketches. The majority of the book is measurements.
9. Baltusrol
I assumed the land might give it away, but I thought this would take time
10. Royal Co. Down
I jokingly named it the "Coombe" plan because it seems to reflect the course after his work and before the final changes made by Colt. Colt added the 4th and joined the 8th and 9th together to create the famous 9th hole. It shows the layout just prior to Colts changes of 1926.
