Pizza Man be damned - this beats it
« on: January 27, 2006, 12:47:39 PM »
Well, leaving a parking ticket unpaid in State College has come back to bite me in the ass.

This morning the PA Constable showed up to serve warning for my impending arrest tomorrow should I not pay the ticket. (I just did... so I'll still be around - No "Night Thoreau Spent in Jail" for me).

Anyway, in the course of our conversation they asked if I was working and I mentioned about my pending position at Huntingdon Valley.

"Oh, you're *that* Kyle Harris! From GCA?"
-"Uhhh yeah"

Wow, simply wow.

Kyle,

Great story, but Pizza Man is on a par with this--here it is (Ed Baker/July 2001) for those who don't recall.

Should there be a secret GCA handshake?

Should there be a secret GCA handshake?

Definitely, but should it be overlapping or interlocking?

How about?

One of those hat clips, doubling as ball marker. It could be used as a lapel pin, too.

Utterly unbelieveable, and quite comical.  Bet it didn't get you out of the ticket though!  ;)

Kyle:

I really don't know whether to say to you---Congratulations, how cool, Or, Jeez, Pal, I'm sorry!

How do you think I feel? You can't imagine how often stuff like this has happened to me, the only trouble is some of the time I hear stuff and they don't know I'm there.

Last summer a whole bunch of us are having a great dinner at Sand Hills with Gene Greco and a few pretty well lubricated guys come over to our table and shout; "Jeeesus, is this really GOLFCLUBATLASERS?" And then the next thing one of them shouts is; "All I want to know is which one of you guys is TEPaul?"

Of course I just pointed to Bob Huntley sitting next to me so he could take the heat.  ;)

I once interlocked and I now use the Hogan grip.

Am I a transgripual? At least I'm not a hemrgripudite!

Bottom line, though:  Does my 19* hybrid qualify for partner's benefits in Boston or only in SF?  ::)

Hey man,
I’m the sand man.
And boy have I news for you;
They’re gonna throw you in gaol
And you know they can’t fail
’cos sand is thicker than blood.
But a prison in sand
Is a haven in hell,
For a gaol can give you a goal
[and a] goal can find you a role
On a muddy pitch in newcastle,
Where it rains so much
You can’t wait for a touch
Of sun and sand, sun and sand...
"Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction."
