A source I like to use is www.bookfinder.com. They use a variety of resources for used books.

Of course, nothing beats going into little hole-in-the-wall used book stores. Years ago I found an original Alister MacKenzie's Golf Course Architecture in a new age book store in San Luis Obispo for $25.

I know you asked about golf book dealers in the US, but are you familiar with Rhod McEwan, a used golf book dealer out of Ballater, Scotland?

He was profiled in a 2-page article in a US golf mag (GolfWeek) in November, 2003. The article claims he has 8,000 golf books in his inventory.

The article also mentions he does business with a golf book dealer in the U.S. named Dick Donovan, who lives in Endicott, NY.

Hope this info is of some help.

If you're having trouble finding a specific book, I've met Dick Donovan and have his contact information.  He probably knows more about collecting golf books than anyone in the US.  Let me know if you want to speak with him.  Good luck.

There is a guy named something like Jon Bonjenour who sends out an e-mail every few weeks with a good list of books.  Unfortunately I deleted it from my yahoo account and it is already gone from the trash.  I'm sure someone else has his contact information.

  It depends on your area of interest and funds available.

Sean,
   In the US, I would contact Ron Muszalski (a personal friend of mine, and a wealth of info), Peter Yagi up near Seattle, Dick Donovan, although I don't know how much selling he is doing these days, George Lewis I believe closed up his business. Rhod McEwan puts out far and away the best catalogue. Pacific Book Auctions is a great place to look for golf books too if you can show up in person in San Francisco, because they sell books by lot (can be 5-20 books or so) at the end of the auction and is a good place to start a collection.
   Also, I will have many books for sale in the coming year as I try to finance a golf trip to Australia, so have your friend get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
   BTW, be careful of Jon Bonjenoor as I have heard sketchy things about him.

If anyone has a copy of Colt & Co by Hawtree that they are considering selling please get in touch.  I've been searching the web for about a year and havn't even seeen one for sale.  email me with description and price.  If you would consider lending your copy I'd be happy to send security first.

I just recently purchased a book from John Bonjernoor and he shipped it over to Scotland very quickly - there wasn't a problem ?
