May end up playing here later this year but I don't know anything about the course.  Worth making the trip out to see it?

Geoffrey-I grew up in the Canton area but I know very little about Glenmoor other than the following. It is one of two Nicklaus courses that were built in Northeastern Ohio for developer Bart Wolstein (the other is Barrington in Aurora). It is a residential golf course community so the course is routed through high end housing. Since it is a Nicklaus "signature" course, I know that Jack was on site but the extent of his involvement is unknown. Despite having more connections in my old hometown, I have never played there. I have played Barrington which I thought was a pretty decent course (although a bit architecturally disjointed). The interesting thing about Glenmoor is that it is on the site of the old Brunnerdale seminary. The seminary itself was converted into condos and may serve as the clubhouse also (I'm not sure). However, it is a very interesting building. The people I know who have played it are complimentary...however, those are people generally impressed more by conditioning and the amenities of the club than the course architecture. Those I know who have played both Barrington and Glenmoor prefer Barrington. If you get the chance, the best course in Canton is Brookside (Ross, recently restored by Silva). There is also a sporty 36 hole public facility across the street from Glenmoor called Tam O'Shanter which is a lot of fun.
