Mayacoo Lakes CC--Florida
« on: December 27, 2005, 06:10:53 PM »
I've got a friend playing a tournament in mid-January at the Mayacoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida (I think that's where he said it was at least...)

He was looking for some information or pictures of the course and wasn't having much luck, could anybody help?

Thanks!

Difficult course, straight hitters will do best
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

It has been changed from original.

Check the gooogle maps/aerial for an idea.

Start here

#1 is to the right of the range, #9 parallel to it.
#10 starts close to the pool and goes NW

Can be a tough but fun course with lots of narrow, smallish pushed-up greens with deep bunkers on either side. Very tough approaches with any wind. Length not a big issue. Used to be much tougher when originally opened, with lots of instant death, lost balls, and so on if you got more than just a little off. Had to be softened because so many members quit due to the difficulty.
