Of course, the real Ralph Lifschitz is now known as Ralph Lauren.

I guess TF does the same.

Steve,

Ralph Lauren's given name was Lipshitz.  Which begs the following question :

"If Ralph's Lips shitz, what does his arse do, whistle?"

I know someone who went to high school in The Bronx with RL.

Ralph started as a tie salesman for Brooks Brothers.

It's Lifschitz, not Lipschitz.

From brainyencyclopedia.com:

Ralph Lauren (born Ralph Lifschitz, October 14, 1939, Bronx, New York) is a world-famous fashion designer.
After dropping out of City College of New York, Lauren served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.

He was able to secure a $50,000 loan from a backer, and used it to found Polo Fashions in 1968.

Since then, Lauren's "fashion empire" has grown to into a $5 billion industry.

IMO, Lauren works much than Lifschitz outside the schmata business. I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank now.

Only on Golfclubatlas would a space I reserved to create some suspense about my impending review could the conversation possibly diverge to a discussion of Ralph Lauren and his arse.  ;)

Paul,

Yes, this thread is sort of taking on the stench of the decaying, rancid whale that washes up on a humid, populated south Florida in August beach.

Still...I love the title.

We should work on a t-shirt.  ;D

whenever I hear the word "zealots", I always think of the scene from "Toy Story", when Woody is being pulled by the alien-things in the toy machine...he/Tom Hanks voice says "Stop it you zealots!!" ;D

how about "I'm a GCA Zealot" on a t-shirt?  that way EVERYBODY is a zealot! you'd sell more shirts that way Mike ;)

Q.  What would a "Minimalist Zealot" T-shirt have on it.

A.  Nothing.
