I've read on more than one occasion Tom MacWood and perhaps some others have alluded to the impact this guy had on golf in the formative years. What exactly did this guy do? From what I can gather he was a pretty good amateur and seemed to constantly be around those that made an impact, but cannot find anything about him that suggests he was more than just another member of the pack.
