no cameras allowed (JOKE PEOPLE, JOKE!) ala Everglades and Palm Beach CC

GS sits on 94 acres on the barrier island in Delray Beach (technically the municipality of Gulf Stream)....I used to have a friend who had a place on North Ocean Blvd right behind the tee of the one hole on the ocean.........very private and understated club....some of the membership overlaps with Seminole.........typical 4th or 5th club for the ultra rich!  I've never been out there, but hear it is a real test when the wind comes up........

You can check out the satellite imagery on maps.google.com. The address is 2401 N. Ocean Blvd., Gulf Stream, Fl.

Shows as a Donald Ross design built in 1923........

But you probably already know all that...........

A lot of interesting aspects to the layout, including the par 4 18th along the beach...........

I practically grew up there, played it hundreds and hundreds of times, maybe thousands and I know every inch of that place for about the last 45 years. I don't have any photos but what do you want to know? Ask me anything. I guarantee you my info and stories will be even better than photos. ;)

Although I never exactly saw the evidence of it some do say  getting on that course is definitely not easy. One time Bill Coore told me he asked if he could just walk over and look at a hole or two and they wouldn't let him. Can you believe that? But knowing Bill there's probably no way in the world he would've even mentioned who he was. All the holes are on the west side of AIA and hole #18 and the incredible Addison Mizner clubhouse is on the other side on the ocean. There are two holes on that course that were particular favorites of Ross--#9 and #15. #9 is the same but #15 had it's green flipped around by Dick Wilson.
