Bobby Jones Movie
« on: June 15, 2005, 11:53:04 AM »
I watched the Bobby Jones story last night. Does anyone know which courses were used for the movie other than TOC shots?

I think it was filmed at the Capital City Club in Atlanta.

I think some of it was filmed at Druid Hills as well.

Capital City (Brookhaven), East Lake (obviously), and I think they might have even done some filming at the Bobby Jones golf course in town.

Dreadful film, the only saving grace was the depiction of Jones' nerve problems during his playing days.
It was intersting to see that he struggled so much with perforamnce anxiety, I know this was well documented before the film, but as the film was so wishy washy on everything else in his life..it was interesting that they chose that as the central topic of the movie.

I saw the film on an airplane and have almost no recollection of it at all now.

The thing that pisses me off is that Jones' life would have made such a great film and yet the one opportunity someone had to film it they screwed it up.
