Aerial of the Day #19 - Updated
« on: April 25, 2005, 10:33:32 AM »
To coincide with the Rumpled Fairways thread, this course
has two holes noted for it's crumpled/wavy fairways, and this
is a great aerial that shows them off from above - at
middle left, #8 and #9:

Nice overlap for me with the "repeat plays" thread from JakaB, as I did a 5 rounds in 3 day visit here several years ago, and just fell completely in love with the place--yes, rumpled fairways are in vogue here, as are gorgeous contrasts in grass colors and textures, ever-changing skies and the solid Prairie hospitality...

And yes, I would consider the only water on the course on #11 to be very much in play, and very much a hazard, and that's all I have to say about that :P

Thanks for the updates aerial, Scott!

Do I see Laura Ingalls Wilder's little house down there?

Were the Rolls in the greens built with a Silver Hammer?

One Hall of Famer beat out another in a recent major here.

Doesn't look like a huge parking lot...these dunes must be far from the beach.  2,000 and change miles, right?

Gotta love the fact that Stan George's maintenance building is bigger than the clubhouse. How's that for priorities?

There's no place like......

This was the place of one of the earliest Bear sightings.

I don't know how I would ever have been able to look into the past with any degree of pleasure or enjoy the present with any degree of contentment if it had not been for the extraordinary influence the game of golf has had upon my welfare.
