Cuscowilla Pics - Dixie Cup
« on: November 26, 2004, 03:13:58 PM »
Finally after a long delay, my laptop is back, it is functioning relatively well, and I have some time to kill while hanging at the in-laws for a few days.  So here are some Dixie Cup pictures from Cuscowilla.

The view from the 1st tee.  Can anyone identify who that is in the first fairway let me know.

Approach to the 2nd at CGC.

Tom Huckaby's shot at the Par 3 3rd hole.

Lou Duran at 3rd.  A great little par 3.

Mike Hendren at 3rd

Small frat party on the 3rd tee.

Tee shot at the 4th hole.  How much can you bite off?

10th Green at CGC.

Par 3 11th Hole.

Pete Roe putting out on 11.  Great par Partner!

Jason Blasberg blasting out of the deep greenside bunker left of 16th green.  Sorry Joe P. but you were too quick in playing your shot the picture turned out blurry as I scrambled to get the camera ready.

Jason B's approach shot into 17th hole.

Pete R. putting out while Joe p. and Jason B. Cheer him on (yeah right!)  And yes in case you were interested our caddie really was that big!

That was the end of the first days matches check back to see more pictures of the Hickory Match, Sat evenings events, Sunday, and post round beers.  They are forthcoming.  They will probably be a lot more intertaining since they will have more pictures of different people (other than just my matches group), also the more drinks that went around the more photogenic this group got.  So stay tuned.

Since there are a lot of pictures yet to come, everyone tell me how you would like me to proceed from here.  Start a seperate thread for each category (group of pictures) or just keep adding them onto this same thread.  I imagine these images might be a little cumbersome for some dial-up people (myself included).

Following Saturdays Dixie Cup matches the Hickory Match went off.  I caught up with the "angry mob" on the 3rd tee.  Here are some of the pieces of evidence (I mean pictures).  I may have mistaken some of you, so let me know.  If you IM me I will make the changes.  Thanks.

Doug Wright's tee shot on 3rd.  Any of you can please feel free to post below to let us know exactly what club you hit here.

Ed Galbavy on 3rd.

Eric Ginter on 3rd.

How would you like to come up on the tee of your favorite par 3 and find a group like this mulling around the green area.

Additional views of "The Angry Mob" which at this point was starting to be anything but angry.  Just ask the poor folks who had to play through on this hole.  I imagine that poor gal probably gave up the game shortly thereafter.

Much more to do than just watch the golf.

Partial team picture.  This was the Unofficial picture of the first annual Unofficial GCA Hickory Match.  My version of the Offiical picture was not as clear as the one Carlyle posted a few weeks ago.  Also note the only non-conformist Barney staging a sit down strike.

Mulling around...

One of the unusual stances you can be faced with at Cuscowilla.

Will Hubbard hits the hickory.

Jason B. wields the hickory.

Tom "Hickory" Huckaby, or as we should just call him for simplicity "Huckory".

Lou D. on the tee.

Kevin Gracley holds the pose for the camera.  Funny I hadn't noticed those unique tee markers before now.

By the way those darn things are harder to hit than you think.

The best pics are still yet to come......Only so many I can do at one time.

Terrific Daryl!!!  I can't believe that everyone of the tee balls on the 4th across the bite off clearly has the ball at the same point of flight leaving the club.  You got some real timing there plus a heck of a camera!  I'm downloading these to my own hard drive for rememberances too.  Thanks.

But, don't forget to post the ones on that blossom boy at the smoker, sitting on the back of that chair! :o ;) ;D
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Hell's Teeth, Daryl,
Please resize yer images to about 500 pixels wide. Us poor dial-up GCA brethren have a bad enuff time seeing these beauties without waiting for them ter download...

Hell Matt it took me long enough to figure out how to get them this small.  As I mentioned with the complete wiping clean of my computer this week I have lost the software.  I to have dial up and I will effort to make the images smaller on all future ones.  It will take to long to make all of these smaller as well.  Maybe someday I will get around to it.

I am going to post the final installment on a new thread due to the size of these images.
