Congratulations to Tom on making the cover of Golfweek.  I have not read the article yet, but well deserved on his great work around the world.

Tom -- Congratulations! I hope this year's "Americas Best" contains more stories about architecture. Good start!

Tim, thanks.  I haven't seen the issue yet and I am truly afraid to ... just as some actors don't like seeing themselves on the big screen.

They started out talking about putting my entire crew on the cover, which would have been fun because no one would have any idea who we were.  But eventually the editors dialed it back to just me, in my office of all places.

The "cult of personality" is hard to shake in this business no matter how much we object.  Hopefully the article goes beyond that.  I've known Dave Seanor for about 15 years so I'm confident he will have good insights to share.

Congratulations on the cover TomD, but don't go false modest on us now--you've always been the "say it like it is" guy on here! You've gotta want to be a star--who doesn't?

I'd say Rees and Fazio have to be looking over their shoulders now---you're on their asses like the roadrunner!

In the latest "Links" magazine, they call Mr. Doak the architect du jour in their article about Cape Kidnappers.  I sure hope that GolfWeek doesn't have a cover-jinx like Sports Illustrated.

Mr. Doak is also mentioned in an article about John Ashworth (founder of the clothing line) and their efforts to build a municipal course near Gullane and North Berwick.  Unfortunately it doesn't provide alot of the details about why the course never got built....only that the politics got too thick  :(

Congratulations!
I remember a remarkable day playing Crystal Downs with Tom back when things were slow.Who could better describe the course!I'm glad I did as now I would need to grab a flight to Australia just to talk to him.
Well Done.

I am sure Mr. Doak doesn't have to worry about that. Talent will out as they say.

TD -

BS!  The real reason is that you haven't a snowball's chance in hell of getting the whole crew together at one time!

Surprise, the main story actually contains a nice group portrait of the Renaissance Golf team. Can't wait to see it, I've only heard about it. So these guys do assemble once in a while.
