2 of us up for it too, provided the national motorway network behaves.

Sorry Mark - I'd taken your name off the "definites" list in the light of your doubts about your fitness. It sounds as if you are now a little more optimistic so I'll add you back on.
Stitches in the finger came out on Monday.  Dressing coming off tomorrow, hopefully.  I'm planning to hit a few balls on Saturday to see how painful it is, so should know more after that.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

We’ve booked The Queen’s Head from Saturday until Wednesday. Seems like a decent location.
We’re also currently looking at purchasing a wheeled gin palace (mobile home). If we go ‘down that road’ are there any decent camping places we could park at?
F.

EDIT: Now booked at the Kingscroft Guest House. Olde worlde Edwardian charm galore!

Just discovered our choice of accoms is veggie/vegan, but you know what? In the spirit of new experiences and trying hard not to be a couple of old gits, we’re not changing. The menus look fresh and tasty, lots of fruit (good for my colon!), only veggie sausages for brekkies, but worth a try!
Can always get our carnivorous tendencies satisfied at the golf clubs. Golfers’ menus are usually full of meaty treats!
F’n’N.

The current Irish and Lions No 8 has a new girlfriend who is a nutritionist and has convinced him of the benefits of a vegan diet. Cue Irish Newspaper heralding his selection for the first Lions test with the headline "Beware of Conan the Vegetarian!"

Play well. :)

Does this mean The Baa-Baas will be renamed The Vee-Vees, or The Veg-Vegges???

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. We’re getting the train down from Edinburgh and due in to Buxton shortly before 18:00. We’ll head to the golf club unless there are different plans for a post round drink/dinner for those of you playing in the afternoon. Probably should have added my mobile number to the WhatsApp group.

We might be struggling to make Saturday golf. Nance is desperately in need of new specs and we might be able to get them on Saturday morning, which would delay our departure from Bonnie Scotland. Will keep you posted as things develop.

I do not want to project a negative stance but i want to report that my continuious optimism through thelast months has paid off with a brilliant tour of gardens, houses, and golf in England and iam so glad I stuck with it despite all the negative views. Thats why i may be known as the grinder in some golf circles. Sadly this self congratulation is tempered by the gaps in Buda from those who understandably played it safe butfor me the rewards have been worth the minimal hastles endured and the risks.

Sunningdale St George Hill and Swinly in that orderare worthy and with Heather showing spectacular right now; Woking is in another category but I may be in a small fraternity.

Hoping things are easier for this grand event nxt year

I've been doing a bit of early morning tweaking to the teams following confirmation of everyone's participation plans. The best I can come up with to balance roughly the numbers for each session is England "Nationals & Residents" vs The Rest of the World.

Around half of us will be playing at Cavendish this afternoon and should be back in the clubhouse by 6.30-7.00pm. I suggest that any Pests arriving in Buxton later this afternoon meet us at Cavendish around this time - maybe after checking in at your lodgings. Food and drink will be available to order from the menu.

A party of Pests led by Mark Pearce is dining at at the Buxton Brewery Tap down the road from the club and I plan on joining them there for a beer or two after eating at Cavendish. I can show anyone interested the way! Everything in Buxton is within walking distance of the club.

Anyone not on the list for today's non-BUDA game on the original MacKenzie Cavendish routing who decides they want to take part is more than welcome. Just get to Cavendish for 3pm. There's plenty of space and the green fee is only £22.

I hope others are as excited as I am! See you all later!

2021 BUDA just finished. Here’s a few quick snaps to jog memories (and maybe elicit some envy!)
Buxton town is stunning:

Nice touch at entrance to Cavendish:

Couple of nice views at Cavendish:

From the terrace at Reddish Vale:

And, ehm, let’s not mention the score!
Great time, gents and ladies. Bring on 2022!
Cheers,
F.

Jack is fine. He has two stents instead of 90% blockage. He’s looking forward to next year.

As soon as Buda 2022 is clear we can decide how to schedule our Southport courses.

Really sorry that I could not make it this year. Fortunately, although I missed seeing friends, I have been able to visit Cavendish several times and Reddish Vale once. Some of my memories from those trips:

Getting to Cavendish brings one into the gorgeous Peak District. I really want to spend more time exploring that area.

Buxton was an attractive base, especially its Opera House.

Lets just say that no one knew the scores until the final day, principally because no one had bothered to count them. As they say about the Olympics, its the taking part that counts  ;D
