Perhaps I am being a little sentimental but did you know that a piece of MacKenzie's Bayside GC lives on at Fresh Meadow CC on Long Island, NY? In the Fall of 1956, the Jack Parker Construction Company would built 380 houses on the old Bayside Golf Course in Queens. Parker gave Fresh Meadow CC turf from several of the defunct Bayside greens. That Bayside turf was grown in 1931 from seed supplied by the O.M. Scott and Son Co. of Maryville, OH, which is the same Scott products you buy today for your lawn. So Hugh Alison's Fresh Meadow (fka Lakeville) course has a little of the good Doctor's Bayside upon it.
