How much of a distance handicap do they give the female players? I've never seen a similar mini-tour here in the States where men and women compete in the same event. I see the tour is owned by Paul Lawrie. Nice to see someone giving back to the game. . . I can't imagine that he's making much money on an endeavor like this.

Mark -

I don't know how the distances were adjusted for the men & women in Dornoch.

In late November each year there is a 4-day pro-am held at Pebble Beach that includes players from the PGA Tour, the Champions Tour, the Korn-Ferry Tour and the LPGA Tour. The format of the event is similar to the AT&T.

I don't know what formula is used, but they do have as many as 3 sets of tee markers on some of the holes. From the event's website: "The event’s innovative tee placement system strives to see players from each tour hitting the same clubs into every green."

https://www.pebblebeach.com/events/taylormade-pebble-beach-invitational/

Sometimes there are groups where players are hitting from 3 different sets of tees on the same hole.

Mr. Lawrie has been giving back to the game for over 20 years now.

And its most certainly never been about the money.

I don’t the exact differences, but I was out playing in the morning while the staff were setting up the tees for the second round. A couple I noticed were #1 was on the front of the yellow tees for the women.  #9 was on the white tees while the women were on the back of the forward tees. On 13 the women were at the very back of the yellow tees. #15 was on the very back championship tees while the women were on the back of the yellow tees
