Rare outing at Fishers Island
« on: August 21, 2019, 11:06:43 AM »
There will be a very rare outing at Fishers Island on Monday October 7, 2019 to support Multiplying Good, a very worthwhile cause. Here is a link to their website:

https://www.multiplyinggood.org/

10:30 AM brunch, 11:30 shotgun, 4:30 cocktail reception and buffet-style dinner. At $5,000 per foursome, this is not inexpensive. However, the golf course makes it worth the trip and the expense!

If you are interested, please message me and I will send you the details.

Bill, played there last month for the first time and was in my top 5 experiences most certainly.  5k is actually VERY reasonable for a foursome at Fishers Island.  I do a lot of charity auctions and this comes up a couple times a year and you have to step up tall, usually a threesome at between 7-9k.  Foursome for 5k is a very attractive offer and of course for a great cause.  I hope it is a smashing success Bill.

Thanks, Jeff.

I have a few inquiries for single spots, so rather than having to take a full foursome, we might be able to put together a GCA.COM foursome (or two) so keep that in mind.

I also played it this year and I still can't decide which is better: NGLA or FI. I love everything about NGLA but all those holes on the water at Fishers...

If you're on the fence, let me strongly encourage you.

The stretch from 3 - 11 is perhaps the strongest stretch in golf.

While you are there enjoying the "big course", try to get to the "little course" (aka Hay Harbor) as well:

I have 3 GCA.COM interested, so we need one to make it a foursome.

I also am twisting the arm of a certain former poster who typed in GREEN INK. But if he plays, he'll be in my foursome! You all need to meet him to separate the man from the myth,  just sayin'

We may have an opening for one more player in this outing, and I will host you at Hackensack Sunday afternoon if you need an extra reason to sign up. You can play Charles Banks' first solo design, Hackensack, and the Raynor's masterpiece, which Banks finished after Raynor died in 1926!

Bill I hope you don't mind but privately emailed a couple non-GCA guys about this and if something clicks I'll circle back to you.  Love this course and if I was stateside would jump at a charitable cause aligned with it.
