Tree Removal: Saving Man Hours in the Fall?

We've talked extensively about the benefits that tree removal offers turf grass in terms of increased airflow, decreased competition for nutrients, and exposure to sunlight. 


I wondered: given that deciduous trees shed, what savings in man hours might a course enjoy over a calendar year by removing 100 trees of that variety?

If you remove all 100 from an area with 100 trees, you may save some money. If the 100 are scattered among thousands, not so much.

Thanks!  I should have clarified that I meant 100 trees from a specific area of a course, resulting in no trees, and going forward, no leaves to collect from that area.

How about the opposite problem....Spring time?  I can think of a dozen or more locations on our course where the removal of three or four trees would greatly reduce "man hours" waiting for frost to lift, reseeding in spring, and roping off carts in spring....not to mention the hundreds of pine cones that have to be blown off the fairways before mowing....ALL season long after every wind storm.

If you remove trees around greens it will definitely save man hours in the fall, especially on weekends.  Spring/early fall frost delays is
another great opportunity to realize benefits especially on 1st and 10th holes as these are typical start holes after frost lifts.
