Thanks much for posting that, Edward. An interesting read - I had often wondered what architects like C&C could do with a landfill site, and now I know. Certainly a very good use/reclamation of otherwise near-useless land (and for golfers an excellent and ideal use of such land), and the model here is particularly intriguing, i.e. high end private that will also serve as pga tournament stop as well as a university home course. The only landfill course I've played -- and I liked it -- was a modestly priced municipal one run by the city of Mississauga, near Toronto. Perched up quite high above the surrounding housing (and thus a bit more windy), and with greens perched up above grade (making run-up shots hard), I found it a very pleasant challenge, and a very convenient one (being right in the heart of an urban area).

This area and land really needed something and still does. The course looks great but people generally will be going in for the course and then getting out of there. It won't develop the area and doesn't intend to but it is a great use of land and is going to be really good with an Old Course like rumple to the land. A few guys have actually played holes on on one side of the revene.

I wonder how hard it would be to have a look when I'm in Dallas this summer? Just another thing to try and do while in the states this summer.
