Vaill Hotel and Country Club - Block Island

I have always been curious about Block Island, but because there is no golf course I will probably never go. I looked at the island while drivin' around Google Earth this evening, and a bit of research showed that there was an oceanfront niner called Vaill Hotel and Country Club that closed in the 60s. Anyone ever play? Anyone ever get invited to see about building a new course there?

Michael,

A quick scan indicates the course (and hotel) was owned by the Ritzinger Family and looks to have opened about 1953 and lasted until the early 1960s.   Hope this is helpful.

**EDIT** A bit more digging indicates the course built in the 1920s and the entire resort was managed by "Maloop & Dunn", proprietors.
