Mike,
The simple solution would be for you to convince your Committee to do away with the OB designation. They have that power under the rules.

If you hit it into what used to be OB, happy trespassing :)

Pete, can you imagine the litigation? It would not change the number of balls hit in yards but would be attractive evidence for the neighbors and motorists. I guess I better invest in a driving iron.

If there is no boundary then how can you be "off the property" ?

I believe I have played several courses over the years where the Local Rule was that there was no out of bounds.  But, it's been a long time, I don't remember which they were.

My favorite Local Rule that I can remember was from West Cornwall, where if your ball comes to rest within two club lengths of a boat, it could be moved without penalty.

Beau Desert has no OOB, but good luck finding your ball "off course" and if you find it, good luck getting it back "on course".

I think a lot of water OOB situations in GB&I are because of health and safety.

Ciao

Because my son is at nearby SMU, I have looked at the aerial pictures of that course several times.  It looks very tightly squeezed in the neighborhood.
