My friend Cob Carlson is working on a film about Donald Ross. He has done a lot of stuff for PBS (like NOVA, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, POV) and taught at NYU so he is quite an accomplished filmmaker. He's also a very big and genuine Ross fan who plays at the George Wright GC in Boston.
From the GCA fellows he would greatly appreciate any particularly well done photos of some of Ross's finer holes. If you care to send him something you can reach him here:
cobcarlson@gmail.com This is more a labor of love thing, a tribute film, than something conducted under a corporate umbrella. He had a successful first run at the recent Ross summit in Pinehurst. He interviewed Tom Doak, Brad Klein and Ran as well as Peggy Kirk Bell, Rees Jones and some others. Now he is shopping the project with some companies to find the funds to complete the project. He would appreciate help in that regard if you happen to have any ideas about that.
Cob just put up a trailer and further information on this website:
http://www.donaldrossfilm.com/ I don't think he has an arrangement with Golf Channel or ESPN etc. More likely it will end up on DVD and streamed on Amazon or Netflix . Anyway, I would imagine any golfer would find it a very worthwhile film to view. Well, if you have any ideas for Cob, feel free to contact him. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from the people on this forum.
