Eldorado (Cabo) - old #9

That was a lovely hole. I hear they have covered it with properties now. Pity.

I believe the old ocean holes at El Dorado yielded 38 beach front lots and roughly $280,000,000 USD. To be honest I was never enamored with their ocean front holes, thought the course had far better golf holes on the inland part of the course.

18th at Carnegie Abbey. A bit rocky though.
Pining for the fairways.

$280 mil...so how does that break down in green fees?  :o

Holes where I HAVE PLAYED from the beach:

Machrihanish #1
North Berwick #2
Eldorado (Cabo) - old #9
Cypress Point #16 [long left]
Barnbougle Dunes #18

Barnbougle Dunes #18 for me as well. Driver, 3wood right, SW then one putt. Fun par into a 40knot wind!

I've done the double at barnbougle ( 17 and 18) - not in the same round mind you. On 17 managed to land it on the beach between the marram and the water where the river feeds into the ocean ( a strip about 2metres wide at the time). I marched over fighting off tiger snakes through the knee high grass and played a great wedge recovery. I was already writing the script in my mind to tell future generations of Jones' the heroic par save. Missed the front left of the green by a foot and took 6. Bugger. 18 was more successful with identical result to mr mollica.
Never argue with an idiot. They will simply bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

17 and 18 at barnbougle for me as well.

3 @ Tasmania golf club is another - I saw a good birdie made off the beach a few years ago during the Australian amateur.
