Many of the best men's young amateur golfers in the northwest competing here.

The wind was blowing a bit am and pm, yet the courses were not tipped out, (Trails 6653, Bandon 6880) sunny and dry conditions.

Lot's of "other scores".

Adam Araneo, Kevin Rei, Kyle Crawford, TP Tucker and Squid, five loopers at Bandon made it to match play.

Love that Nick and Jesse made it into the match play. Nick just won the Oregon Am and will be a tough out.

Scoring seems unimpressive not knowing just how hard the wind blew.  I will point out that #14 at BT played as one of the easiest par-4's (easiest holes period) on either course in relation to par.  I love the hole but am still curious to see pics of the softened green.

Cheers

jeff,

saw Nick play at ECC, solid golf!

Will,

The main thing on 14 is the width to the left as well as smothed on the approach to the green, the green itself is mostly the same except slightly raised on the front right.

and the impressive thing about the scores is how high they are, lol...pretty windy at 20 mph

I'm rooting for Squid.  Would love to see that cephalopod's name on the top of the leaderboard on tour someday.  He was my favorite American Gladiator too.

One guy from Troutdale (great name) shot a pretty impressive 73 on BT in the 2nd round...Unfortunately he won't be advancing to match play- his 104 on BD in Rd 1 proved to be a hole too deep. What a difference a day (or a course) makes!

There was ALOT of wind on Saturday.  Period. About as heavy as we get here.

Sunday, less.

Today, about like Sunday.

Bill,
First the transition on the let side of the green is softer, less slope. Second, the intrusion of the forest and its heavy undergrowth has been cut back, opening up the left side on the drive.
