David:
Looks like some of your countrymen and women care about the tally a bit more than you:

That's funny, Sven.  Brilliant

Its a running joke for Australian's to claim successful New Zealanders as Australian.  It is done tongue in cheek, unlike the cheering for hometown hero "Andy Murray" at Wimbledon.

Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

This Olympics needs fewer puff pieces and more Irish announcers:

David we are even getting news stories in the UK from the Aussie media on the success (or rather lack of) at the games. Fortunately half English Sally Pearson won them a gold tonight.

As for the sitting down golds, well gold is gold in whatever sport. Drain the pool and the USA drop behind us in the medal table.

When you've followed GB and English sport for so long success needs cheering.

Pretty ironic that the UK stiffs have been calling American Footballers sissies for wearing pads when they play.

Well here's right back at you....baseball players don't wear pads, other than the occasional elbow protector.  It would appear the cricket players are the real sissies with all the padding they wear!!   ;D

If baseball pitchers were allowed to throw at the body and head at will, batters might wear more padding.

And our fieldsmen don't wear gloves, despite standing much nearer the bat.

Sven,

"This Olympics needs fewer puff pieces and more Irish announcers:"

That was a very, very funny piece, thank you!
