"A W S" golf brand?

Anybody know this golf brand?  A W S?

J H Norton is the pro.

no the monogram is above it.

AWS is the make but I'm not sure who it is..maybe spalding?

I may be way out of school here, but my take would be that J.H. Norton made the club.  From this

It looks like J.H. Norton was the club pro at Trenton.  I believe it was the custom of the time that club pros also made clubs.  That was certainly the case in the late '90's, and I would suspect the practice carried forward at least until 1910. 

Finally, the marks for J.H. Norton and Hand Made look of a piece.  The A W S looks like it was applied separately and based on the spacing, each independently.

Anyway, that's how I'd read it.

Thanks David-valid point.

Norton was in deed the designer of our course (Mike helped me establish that last year on this site).  Since then, we came across this club.  No doubt it is his club but I am not sure why the "A W S" marking?

An old school Pro like Norton may have also been a clubmaker as David suggested.

Could be that "AWS" were the initials of a member from that period.

Him is almost certainly right. They would be the initials of the club's owner.
