I was planning on playing in an NCGA event at Stanford Golf Course in March, wonder if it will still be around by then.

In an interview Monday (Feb. 13) Hume said the board took a moment to "celebrate and savor" the successful completion of The Stanford Challenge, the five-year campaign that raised $6.2 billion.

I was thinking along those same lines...must be nice to be a rich school like Stanford and have money to burn.

However, given its for a scientific cause, I'm fully in favor of this.  Without science, we would have nothing!!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes Stanford to build a new practice ground elsewhere on their grounds.

Looks like it opened in Spring 2008 and "estimated cost" was $3.5 million.

I believe the cost was $10,000,000.00 and the money was put up by aprox 10 people. I do not know what other things that cost covered other than the actual practice facility.
