I was thumbing thru a book on the works of Bernard Maybeck, a famous architect who practiced from roughly 1890 to 1940. He was a leading exponent of the Arts & Crafts movement.
Most of the buildings and homes Maybeck designed were in the San Francisco area. However, in the late 1920's, he received a very large commission to design the buildings for entire campus of Principia College, near St. Louis. The campus was built around 1931.
The print of Maybeck's design rendering for the campus clearly shows a 9-hole golf course as part of the campus property. I presume the course no longer exists and am not even sure it was ever built.
