I am always partial to Cape holes. Since I'm playing there tomorrow the 8th and 11th at Highlands of Elgin are excellent examples. 8th is a short hole that begs you to cut off a lot but the distance is longer than it looks. Taking the safe way with a driver leaves you into a natural area through a fairway that does not keep your shot in play.
The 11th is just a big par 4.5 with a huge green.
On both the pucker factor on the tee is high. 8th with a brave drive means a long pitch up tight. Come short you are looking for a new golf ball. 11th actually lets you cut more off than you think (elevated tee?) but still is stout.
