The copy of a 13 page tutorial on the golf swing by Mr. Hogan that I have is dated September 5, 1977. It was sent to a gentleman in Seattle. I have learned that this person is a friend of " Scorpie " Doyle who for many years was the starter at Tamarisk. Mr. Doyle had a problem with alcohol and Mr. Hogan got him on the path to sobriety and got him the job at Tamarisk. Mr. Hogan's intervention saved Scorpie's life. Just one of the many humane acts that Mr. Hogan never got credit for.The letter does contain 4 stick drawings and I find it to be very interesting. There are references to Walter Hagen and Babe Ruth. This letter has passed through the hands of Bob Jenney of Chestnut Hill, Don Callahan (pro emeritus TCC) and Ed Stimpson Jr.(father devised the stimpmeter) to me. I've had it about 15 years. I think there is a page missing and a few words are hard to decipher.I sent a copy to Lanny Wadkins last year so that a friend of his could authenticate the hand writing. He got back to me with the good news that it is a letter written by Mr. Hogan.
Let me know what you have .
Thanks for the welcome. The members here at GCA have been most gracious.

Thanks for the welcome and I agree that the USGA staff do a hell of a job and I'm sure you know that the staff and volunteer take alot of heat and get beat up by the media and golfing public at times and sometimes , perhaps, we deserve a kick in the ass but no one can ever question our dedication and love for the game. The USGA is not in the entertainment business, we are in the GOLF business.
  Good to hear from you.
