Rick,
I've been back and forth to Minot lately (100 miles east of the Links of NDak) and I can tell you that the oil/gas boom is playing havoc with golf course staff salaries and budgets. Try hiring a crew member for your course at $15 an hour in that economy. There's also a massive housing shortage; every hotel in Minot and north central North Dakota has been booked up for years and the four new hotels going in at Minot are already presold-out for two years. So you have a weird economy, with the costs of everyday goods skyrocketing. Sure, there's more prosperity, but the whole pace of the local economy is very different. I'm not sure how many of those oil and gas workers play golf, anyway. High school grads are getting $70,000 to pull pipe and drive water trucks. We'll see.
