I don't doubt you guys (and didn't) that it was No. 3 where Casper laid up every day.

Now I'm gonna have to go watch a 5-year-old PGA, to see if I should start doubting myself -- or to verify that I should have been even more doubtful of Venturi, all along.

One more thing: It sure looks as though there are at least two different sands in the bunkers at Winged Foot. Some look snow-white; others, tan. Are we in the middle of a switchover here?

What this aerial illustrates for me is that my recollection of Winged Foot, from the PGA Championships, is basically correct. Just about every hole has the same greenside bunker layout. At least two bunkers on either side, mostly at the front of the green.

Things are pretty tight. An easy course to walk. I wonder what happens if they don't try to build two courses on that land but give themselves a little more room for one (or even just 27 holes).

I've never heard of anyone call Winged Foot tight, and the trees are a LOT better now.

Whether or not you like the style of the courses (Ja, These are stern, muscular thighed brunettes  8) ), a 36er or even an 18er at Winged Foot is a wonderful day, unless you've got the crookeds, the yips and the manos a pietra simultaneously or you need to hit 25 full drivers before you're ready to play.

I would  like to see all those trees near the angle on WFE #4 go, though.  To me it's the only place in the 36 it feels cluttered.
