Sean,

I can't really offer an opinion on that, since I haven't played the course and I find it very difficult to form a judgment on the basis of a photo tour.  I would say it looks like a course that I want to play, though like you £150 is a lot of bucks for the bang.  I can get two rounds of golf, lunch and change for a couple of rounds for the same price at the Berkshire, for instance and even that feels like I'm splashing out.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Niall,

at the moment there are still many areas that still look new. In a few years these should also have grown in fully and the course will be difficult to date.

I suspect the course will be a lot easier to date than you think. GCA like any other form of design has its trends and innovations and even retro fashions (ie. sleepers) which helps age a course a lot more than how well the vegetation is doing. My point being that no one I think would mistake CS for a classic links or vice versa.

As Mark Pearce stated there was another thread which talks about other aspects of the design of the course which has a very interesting contribution from Mike Wittaker giving an alternative American perspective to that of Anthony. Suggest that would give you more of the type discussion you're looking for, certainly should be more your thing than a thread that has "wood faced bunkers" in the title !
