The more I think about it, the less pleased I am that JN is trying to take credit for the "first" course of this kind, but maybe that is just me!
As to Melvyn and his points, I think the only real argument is the b and w sound of his posts. I would agree that there should ALWAYS be some golf facilities that are walking only, and the game in general should push for a return to walking. But, its shades of gray. There should also be some courses that allow carts, cater to fast and easy play, etc. Not everyone wants a stiff challenge and a good walk every day! As long as we can say its ideal, but not always achievable, then fine, lets say walking and a nice challenge are the ideal. Just as long as courses that suit the ideals of lesser purists are out there, too.
