In reading the comments to the NY Times article, there are 2 charity outings held at MoreFar every year- one for the Brewster Fire Company and the other for a local temple. Participating in these events would be the way to play this course.

Here is info on the course from golflink.com:

The 18-hole "Morefar" course at the Morefar Golf Course facility in Brewster, New York features 6,748 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 73.0 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass.  Designed by Edward Ryder/Val Carlson, the Morefar golf course opened in 1962.

Sounds like it's a great property in great conditioning.  Not sure about the quality of the design, but that should be enough to make it worth a visit.  I'm curious if any raters can get on the golf course.

I know this is OT but if I read one more of those reviews that goes:

The 18-hole "Pine Valley" course at the Pine Valley Golf Club...

I'm going to hurl.   :)
